WHAT TO BRING

When attending a class, it's helpful to bring a few essentials for a comfortable and fulfilling practice. Firstly, a yoga mat is crucial for stability and cushioning during poses. Comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, such as leggings or athletic wear and a breathable top, is ideal. Bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session is important. Depending on personal preference, some practitioners may opt to bring a towel for sweat or to use as additional padding during certain poses. Additionally, if you have your own yoga props such as blocks, straps, or a bolster, bringing them can enhance your practice. For practitioners of Block Therapy, bringing a Block Buddy and Baby, as well as a yoga blanket, can offer added support and comfort during the session. Lastly, an open mind and willingness to engage in the practice with focus and mindfulness are invaluable contributions to your yoga class experience.

VIRTUAL VS. IN-PERSON

Virtual yoga classes offer unique benefits compared to in-person sessions. While both provide guidance and instruction, virtual classes offer the convenience of practicing from any location with an internet connection, allowing flexibility in scheduling. Participants can choose from a wider range of instructors and styles worldwide, providing access to diverse teachings that may not be geographically available. Virtual classes also cater to various comfort levels, allowing individuals to practice in their own space, which can enhance relaxation and focus.

In-person classes offer immediate, hands-on adjustments from instructors, facilitating better alignment and understanding of poses. The social aspect and community connection in physical classes can be more pronounced, fostering a sense of belonging and shared energy. Additionally, the in-person environment may limit distractions and promote a deeper immersive experience in the practice. Both virtual and in-person classes offer unique advantages, catering to different preferences and lifestyles, ultimately contributing to a well-rounded yoga practice.

OPTIMIZING CLASSES

Commitment to daily practice and being present is how one creates and maintains balance.  To meet this challenge, I created this community and offer practices to hold us accountable as a network of like-minded people.

Each practice offers asana, mantra, pranayama, sangha connection and a space to cultivate our inner refuge.

It’s a space to be seen, to be held exactly where you are, to share challenges or successes. We utilize the community forums to ask questions and commune with a global network.

In the membership portal, my virtual practices and seasonal guide offer continuous support for your yoga journey throughout the week, bridging the gap between classes. These resources are designed to complement and enhance your regular sessions by providing structured practices tailored to each season's unique energy and needs. With a variety of virtual practices, including guided videos, tutorials, and a comprehensive seasonal guide, you can maintain a consistent practice, nurturing your body and mind on a daily basis. My classes are strategically structured to progressively build upon one another, forming a foundation for your growth in flexibility and strength while ensuring safety and injury prevention. By gradually introducing and refining foundational poses and techniques each week, the classes aim to lead practitioners toward mastering more advanced yoga postures by month's end, fostering a steady and sustainable progression towards peak poses while prioritizing alignment, mindfulness, and gradual advancement.

Class descriptions

  • Yoga has been a part of my life since 2005, and my practice has helped me gain balance in my health, become more flexible, and embrace the warrior within.

The practice of yoga brings together the body, mind and breath to free them from the obstacles to live in balance and vitality. This practice is a beautiful compliment to my own as an a Functional Ayurveda Wellness Coach. My approach to teaching yoga is compassion-centered with a focus on self-care and expressing loving kindness to yourself. Just as we want to align our actions in life to our soul’s purpose; we also want our bodies to align with their natural healthy state. With this in mind, there is a focus on the fundamentals and basics of alignment within my classes.

As a life-long student of religion and contemplative psychology; I honor all belief systems and bring teachings from many different backgrounds into my class themes and meditations. I completed my 200-hour Vinyasa Flow training with ONE Yoga in Denver, CO and have great gratitude for the experienced teachers who taught and continue to mentor me as a student of yoga.

Helping you to find balance, harmony and freedom from suffering in your life is my mission and yoga is one of the potent vehicles to support you.

  • Block Therapy is a self-care version of Fluid Isometrics. The individual lies on a therapeutic tool called the Block Buddy for a minimum of three minutes in various positions throughout the body. Bamboo is used as the therapeutic tool because, unlike artificial materials like foam or plastic, it shares similar density to bone. With gravity and body weight, the Block Buddy is able to sink deeply into the tissue all the way to the root of your issues. The pressure brings increased blood and oxygen into the area warming the connective tissue and “melting” the powerful seal between the layers of unhealthy restrictions. The student is taught to use diaphragmatic breathing to increase oxygen absorption up to 6 times the amount, compared to breathing through the muscles of the upper chest. The combination of increased oxygen, the freeing of adhesions, proper posture and alignment form the basis of the Block Therapy/Fluid Isometrics system.

  • Yantra Yoga, the Buddhist equivalent to the hatha yoga of the Indian tradition, is a system of practices including body and breathing exercises.

Originally transmitted by the yogis of Northen India and Oddiyana, its practice is nowadays found in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism in relation to the Anuttaratantras, more generally known under the Tibetan term trulkhor, whose Sanskrit equivalent is yantra or the union of the sun and moon.

Tantra yoga is the exploration of the subtle energies within the body and their connection to the universe provide the opportunity to understand the purpose of life and the principles of union in new dimensions.

The word Tantra means, “to weave or expand.” The root of the word yoga is “yuj” which means, “union.” Similar to some of the other 8 Forms of Yoga, Tantra Yoga blends elements of Raja, Bhakti, Karma, Kundalini, and Hatha practices. What distinguishes it from others is that it also weaves dynamics of other mystical practices as well such as: astrology, Ayurveda, crystals, and gemology to name a few. In utilizing these aspects, the Tantric practice aims to expand beyond perceived limitations of yogic philosophy and the asanas.
