Fresh Cranberry–Orange Jam with Apple, Ginger & Cinnamon

Bright, tart, lightly spiced, and naturally thickened with Collagelatin.

This is the cranberry sauce I make every holiday season — fresh, bright, and infused with warming spices. Instead of canned jelly or overly sweet store-bought versions, this jam brings together whole cranberries, fresh orange, a little apple for natural pectin, and the gentle heat of ginger and cinnamon. The Collagelatin adds protein and gives the jam that perfect spoonable texture.

It’s delicious with turkey, but also magical on gluten-free bread, muffins, crackers, or even swirled into yogurt.

🍒 Ingredients

  • 1 package fresh cranberries (usually 12 oz)

  • 1 orange

    • Chop the inner flesh + squeeze all the juice

  • 1 apple, peeled and cut brunoise (tiny diced)

  • 1 tsp ginger

    • Fresh grated or powdered, both work

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ cup cane sugar

  • 2 tbsp Bulletproof Collagelatin (or any collagen/gelatin mix)

🍳 Instructions

1. Combine everything in a saucepan

Add to a medium saucepan:
fresh cranberries, chopped orange flesh + juice, diced apple, ginger, cinnamon, and cane sugar.

2. Cook down

  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  • Cook until the cranberries begin to burst and the apples soften.

  • Stir frequently.

  • This usually takes 10–15 minutes.

3. Mash

Use a potato masher to break down the cranberries and apples until you reach your desired jam-like consistency.

4. Add Collagelatin

Remove the pan from heat.
Sprinkle in 2 tbsp Collagelatin and whisk or stir until fully dissolved.

This gives your jam a thick, smooth, homemade jelly texture.

5. Jar & chill

Transfer to a glass jar.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours — it will thicken as it chills.

✨ How to Use This Cranberry Jam

  • Spoon over roasted turkey

  • Spread on gluten-free bread or toast

  • Serve with muffins or scones

  • Swirl into yogurt or chia pudding

  • Use as a glaze for chicken or pork

  • Add to charcuterie or cheese boards

🌟 Variations (Optional)

  • Less sugar: reduce to ⅓ cup — the apple adds natural sweetness

  • Extra warming: add a pinch of clove or nutmeg

  • Citrus-forward: add zest from the orange

  • Ginger lovers: add grated fresh ginger after cooking for a zingy finish
